TAKUMI, a HURCO brand, will have an ultra-precise 5-axis machining center for the European market on display at EMO 2023: the U400. The compact portal machine is designed for the efficient production of mold and die components with exceptional surface quality. Weighing in at 9 t, the U400 features low-vibration machining capabilities as well as thermal stability – even during extended run times. These characteristics have a direct impact on the precision of the workpiece. At the same time, machine tuning is optimized for precision and surface quality in conjunction with the absolute direct measuring system.
Eliminating
operator error
With a rotary table 398 mm in diameter and
rated for a maximum table load of 250 kg, the U400 is tailor-made for
small and medium workpieces. Like all TAKUMI machines, the U400 is equipped
with a Heidenhain control system. This system enables conversational, parallel,
and free contour programming as well as ISO NC programming. With the DCM
(dynamic collision monitoring) anti-collision control feature, damage to
machines and tools resulting from operator error is virtually eliminated. The
large over-the-corner loading point enables loading from above via crane. Plus,
an integrated oil separator and an ergonomic chip conveyor keep the work area
clean.
TAKUMI combines the claims of two worlds: Japan’s craftsmanship that is constantly zeroing in on perfection, plus Germany’s precision-oriented talent for machine construction. The result is a lineup of machines for mold and die that combines exceptional precision, robustness, and workpiece quality down to the most minuscule detail. The inherently rigid machining centers have a stable machine bed made from Meehanite cast iron. This design ensures quiet operation as well as an impressive high-quality surface finish. These machines are produced in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
