Hanwha to Showcase Cutting-Edge Machinery and Collaborative Robots at EMO 2023

Hanwha Precision Machinery, a key subsidiary of Hanwha machinery business who has shaped the history of Korean industrial and precision equipment, is viewed as the only kind of Korean smart solution provider who is capable of developing and manufacturing CNC Swiss turn lathes for precision parts machining, Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Mounters for semi-conductor and general electronic assembly. HPM has been growing into a worldwide leading manufacturer of smart equipment industry by striving to provide customers with optimized solutions to bring additional values to operational productivity and efficiency.

Among its business lines, Machine Tool Division, in particular, developing and producing CNC Swiss turn lathes for precision parts required in daily industrial necessities such as automotive, electric/electronic and medical products, started its business with the name of ‘Sinhan Bearing Co., Ltd’ in 1977 and merged into Hanwha Precision Machinery in 2019. It developed Korea’s first Swiss turn lathe with gang and turret type and continues its focus on the development of new products to best fit customer’s various requirements, based on its half-century-long experience.

Hanwha is thrilled to announce its participation in the prestigious EMO machine tool exhibition, scheduled to take place from September 18 to 23 in Hannover, Germany. The company is set to captivate attendees with an impressive lineup of cutting-edge machines and collaborative robots, highlighting their commitment to innovation and excellence in the manufacturing industry.

This year’s EMO event promises to be a remarkable showcase for Hanwha, as the company unveils six state-of-the-art machines and introduces four collaborative robots, underscoring their dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in modern manufacturing.

XV20 is incredible Ø20/26 model with rigid double hinged B-axis unit and way better back tool unit (Y2).

This machine can be applied for parts from various industries (automotive, medical, hydraulic, industrial equipment etc.), but it shows the highest efficiency especially for processing high-complex parts (multi shaped). The B-axis cross unit (inclined machining) and cross-integrated back tool unit enable efficient machining of multi-process products. Powerful motor for the cross drilling / milling, 2,2kW and higher speed of tool rotation, 8000rpm are adopted as a standard, so strong cutting and stable machining are performed for hard material. Also basically, with high motor specification and double hinged structure for B-axis cross unit performs high-precision beveled hole machining.

XD20III is the 3rd generation of Ø20/26 model equipped with powerful back tool unit (Y2)

This machine can be applied for most universally to the overall industrial market and achieve productivity at optimum cost. The biggest difference from Hanwha the best-selling model XD20II is the reinforced back tool unit and powerful cross option. This machine is capable of Y2-axis feed for more tools on back, it is possible to produce extended machining performance and strengthen the process distribution ability. It also offers more power (2.2kW) if more powerful and precise cutting is required on the cross. The cross and back tools basically designed a gear modular type, so it is possible to attach various optional tool unit and it can minimize non-cutting time for frequent job changes with easy tool change. And since the tools applied to the cross and back are all designed to be shared with the tools of XV20/26 and XD20/26II, maintenance costs can be reduced.

Hanwha Precision Machinery’s machine tool business provides a variety of S/W solutions to improve productivity and operability of customers. One of the system that is smart factory solution, Hi-CPS, which is the first solution for smart factory operation that creates an efficient production environment of automation, intelligence, and unmanned operation. It is an integrated system that builds a network between owned devices and collects data to help operator to monitor and manage remotely through not only PC but also mobile. Since its development in 2019, it has been continuously improved and totally renewed one will displayed at this exhibition. Convenience in client account and system management has been improved and the User Interface (UI) design has been revamped. In particular, features have been improved with a focus on user convenience and production management efficiency.

  • Various administrators can be managed separately under an integrated account
  • Consumable expiration notification
  • Monitoring power usage

PG package (PG editor, manager and simul) is introduced as Hanwha’s customer convenience features. PG editor is a solution that supports programming easily and conveniently for any user even beginners. PG Manager is managing solution to help users to store machining process data in safe and to search them simply & easily. Also it supports reference programing data. Based on stored data, it also supports reference of parameter suitable for the desired condition. And PG Simul is processing simulator in 3D to check virtually during the machining preparation stage.

Hanwha will continue to develop smart software solutions that are easier to manage and improve productivity while reducing labor and production costs by integrating solutions through digital transformation and automating the overall process of producing products.

Hanwha presents the collaborative robot HCR series for a more convenient and safer future. Furthermore, new model, HCR-14 will be launched, which has the widest working radius and a largest payload of the HCR series. Especially various applications applicable to industries are planned to show at Hanwha booth.
